Netflix has brought us a new stand-up comedy special in the name of Michelle Buteau.
Welcoming viewers into her Buteaupia, fans have been left in fits of giggles since the show aired. It has been reported that the comedian waited 19 years for the stand-up – and to fan’s delight, it’s officially on our screens. It comes in the same year that Michelle Buteau hosted Netflix’s The Circle.

Michelle is a 43-year-old stand-up comedian, actress and podcast host for Late Night Whenever.
She is the star of Netflix’s new comedy show Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia.
The comedian, from New Jersey, USA, has a Haitian father of Lebanese descent and Jamaican mother of French descent. After performing stand-up comedy for five years, Buteau got a television spot on Comedy Central.
Her talents don’t stop there though, as she also has acting roles in films Someone Great, Isn’t It Romantic, Sell By, and Always Be My Maybe, and wrote a comedy essay book called Survival of the Thickest.

Michelle has been married to Gijs for ten years. She recently shared an Instagram picture looking back on their wedding day in celebration of their anniversary.
The comedian reportedly never thought she would get married until she met Gijs.

Do Michelle and her husband have children?
The married couple have two children called Hazel and Otis, who were born through surrogacy in 2019. The twins are currently 20 months old.
The Netflix star was previously diagnosed with Prolactioma, which produces too much of a hormone called prolactin, which can cause infertility. Michelle had around five rounds of IVF and four miscarriages.
It is alleged that Gijs encouraged Michelle to have surrogacy after her struggle with IVF.
