In 2009, the media was left in shock when the faces behind the numerous robberies in celebrity homes around Hollywood were uncovered. The group, dubbed The Bling Ring, was a team of five teenagers and two adults including Rachel Lee, Diana Tamayo, Courtney Ames, Nick Prugo, Alexis Neiers, Johnny Ajar, and Roy Lopez. Jr. The celebrity-obsessed teenagers started burglarizing the homes of their onscreen models in 2008 and carried on with the act until CCTV footage from one of the victim’s homes led to their arrest.

Recently, Netflix released a docuseries titled The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist to provide a firsthand account of the 2008/2009 burglaries. Since the docuseries premiered, viewers have been curious to know the status of The Bling Ring friends, and the direction their lives took after the infamous robbery.

8 Rachel Lee Is A Hairstylist

Rachel Lee was a celebrity-obsessed teenager that masterminded the breaking into homes of Hollywood stars. After serving 16 months out of her four years sentence, Lee’s life took a new turn. The Korean-American native went to therapy, drew closer to family, and completely withdrew from the media. Per Us Weekly, Lee earned a certification in hairstyling from a cosmetology school and is currently working on a script for a TV series.

7 Diana Tamayo Is A Fitness Trainer

Diana Tamayo was an asset to the teenage celebrity burglary squad. Her petite stature made it easy for her to go through doggie doors to gain access for the team. Like every other bling ring member, Tamayo was arrested, except she faced the possibility of deportation for being an undocumented immigrant.

Ultimately, she was sentenced to three years on probation with two months of community service. Per Daily Beast, Tamayo is upholding her faith in God while nurturing a career as a fitness trainer.

6 Johnny Ajar Is Living Large

Johnny Ajar was an adult member of the bling ring. The then 27-year-old was responsible for selling the group's loot for cash. Before spending time in jail for his role in the heist, and other unrelated crimes, Ajar was a party promoter for hotspot clubs around Hollywood. From his social media posts, it appears that the club promoter is staying out of trouble while continuing in the entertainment line.

5 Courtney Ames Tried To Change Her Name

Courtney Ames was introduced to the crew by her old friend Rachel Lee. She was responsible for recruiting Lopez and Ajar to the team. Ames was sentenced to three years on probation with 60-days of community service.

During the trial, the former burglar made headlines for donning Lindsay Lohan’s stolen necklace to court. Following her sentence, Ames earned a degree in psychology, speech, and child development from Pierce College. She also tried to change her name in honor of her stepfather, but many believe it is an excuse to cover her past.

4 Roy Lopez Jr. Went AWOL

Roy Lopez Jr. was introduced to the bling ring by Courtney Ames. Like his other adult counterpart, Lopez’s role was to sell off the stolen items for cash. Lopez was sentenced to three years on probation with credits for the 100 days he had earlier spent in jail.

After the sentence, the former restaurant worker tried to get a cut in the salaries of actors in The Bling Ring movie. These days, not much is known about Lopez as he has completely gone under the radar.

3 Nick Prugo Is A Business Owner

Nick Prugo was the co-ringleader of the brazen teenage burglar group. Ironically, Prugo’s confession of the Hollywood heist helped police apprehend the remaining group members of the ring. Prugo was sentenced to two years in jail but was released after one year.

In 2016, the business owner had another brush with the law; he pled guilty to stalking a skincare guru. These days, Prugo is enjoying his marital life, while running a home essentials business. He currently has a net worth of $350,000.

2010 was an eventful year for Alexis Neiers. The reality star was in the middle of filming the pilot episode of Pretty Wild when law enforcement agents pulled up with a search warrant. Although she had only been involved in one of the group's burglary trips, the reality star became the inspiration behind the 2013 film, The Bling Ring.

These days, the former model sells a life reset course that helps substance-dependent individuals on their path to healing. According to Heavy, Alexis currently has a net worth of $200,000.

1 Tess Taylor Is All About Her Family

While Tess Taylor was not directly involved with The Bling Ring gang, her relationship with her foster sister Alexis Neiers roped her into the celebrity burglary story. After the buzz around the robberies died out, Taylor checked into rehab to help her opioid addiction.

These days the reality star is sober and has built a life that revolves around family. Last week, Taylor registered her displeasure about her inclusion in the Netflix docuseries and hinted at possible legal action against the network.
