Stella Parton is an American country singer and songwriter who hails from Sevierville, Tennessee. She rose to prominence for her biggest hit being “I Want to Hold You in My Dreams Tonight.” She is the older sister of the singer Randy Parton and former actress Rachel Dennison. She made her debut at the Hillbilly Heaven pub. She started her own record label, Soul, Country and Blues. Up until 1979, she released three albums on the Elektra label. Stella and Kin Vassey collaborated on a song for the soundtrack of Dolly’s 1984 film Rhinestone.
