Derek Dallas Carr is a quarterback with the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League. He played collegiate football at Fresno State, where he was named first-team All-MWC twice. The Raiders selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Carr was the youngest of three children born to Rodger and Sheryl Carr in Bakersfield, California.

He and his family lived in Bakersfield before moving to Sugar Land, Texas, in 2002, when his elder brother, David Carr, was selected first overall by the Houston Texans, who were in the process of expanding.

Carr returned to Bakersfield with his family for his final year, where he attended Bakersfield Christian High School. Carr and Heather Neel got married on June 29, 2012.

They have three sons and one daughter. His oldest son was born with a medical condition that caused his intestines to become entangled and required three surgeries to correct.
